Valerie has been practicing and studying Oriental Medicine for over ten years. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Southern California and Master’s Degree at South Baylo University, where she established a strong foundation of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She gained extensive clinical experience at SBU Clinic where she treated a variety of internal medicine patients with acupuncture and herbs. Valerie furthered her studies at Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in Hangzhou, China, where she apprenticed under Dr. Ninghan Feng, an acclaimed acupuncture master. Valerie had much success treating stroke and paralysis patients at Hangzhou Railroad Hospital's in-patient facility. Zhejiang Chinese Medical University awarded her with a certificate of advanced studies.
Valerie has worked with several medical and wellness groups in San Diego, including Elite Performance Institute, where she treated various athletes for performance enhancement and sports injuries. Her broad scope of practice also includes working with patients undergoing fertility treatments to enhance their chances of a successful pregnancy. Currently practicing in Del Mar, CA, Valerie is a licensed acupuncturist by the California Acupuncture Board, and an active member of the California State Oriental Medical Association and the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Valerie is dedicated to offering her patients compassionate, comprehensive natural medical care. Her passion lies in educating her patients to make optimal, healthy lifestyle changes. Valerie listens to her patients needs and concerns. She extensively reviews their past ,present, and family medical history to identify potential underlying causes of their illness. Understanding that each individual is unique, Valerie develops a customized treatment plan for each patient using one or more of the following natural healing modalities: acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, herbal and natural supplements, cupping, moxibustion, heat therapy, biofeedback, guided imagery, exercise, diet and lifestyle counseling.
In 2009, Valerie opened Point Del Mar Acupuncture, in Del Mar, CA. As a Del Mar resident, Valerie wanted to bring quality alternative healthcare to her community. Valerie is a dedicated mom of two who enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. Her other interests include fishing, hiking, yoga and fine dining.
